Using adjective + er + than

The opposite forms are like that :
long - short
fair - dark
tall - short
We can use the opposite forms in that construction :
adjective + er + than
to compare one person with another person
Ali is taller than Ahmet .

The same principle can be used to compare things .
England is wetter than Turkey .
Red is brighter than brown .
Ayşe ' s hair is longer than Meral ' s .
